Every night, under the same sky and stars, probably since the emergence of humankind, people around the world have been wishing one another a good night.

This book is aimed at children aged 3 to 120, the age when curiosity about the world around them emerges. It will allow you and your child to know how to say "Good Night" in other languages and places across the globe. Sometimes it sounds funny, other times familiar or similar, and in some case it challenges our tongues and sounds totally foreign.

The book was beautifully illustrated by Yuval Israeli, focusing our attention on the kingdom of the night, the same skies and stars.

15 Ways To Say Good Night Volume 1 edition by Efrat Shoham Yuval Israeli Children eBooks

Splendid, inventive hand-drawn illustrations I really enjoyed in a clever concept that became even better the deeper in, and when I finished I promptly paged backwards to pick up the little nuances I might have otherwise missed like a steaming tea kettle, a flowered lei or roaming critters I might have otherwise missed that made the book for me. Very good children's book and one I would recommend!

15 Ways To Say Good Night Volume 1 edition by Efrat Shoham Yuval Israeli Children eBooks Reviews

Sweet little pictures to go along with different ways to say goodnight. Read with my six year old. I'm fairly certain I butchered the pronunciation, thoroughly however.
This is a nice charming read from Efrat Shoham. Aided by illustrator Yuval Israeli, the author puts together a charming read that will take your children on a journey around the world in illustrated phrases of the various ways people of different countries say ‘good night’.

Using the 'Zoom' in effect for this book on how to say goodnight in 15 languages enables the reader to see the text in the center of the page and it also takes up about half of the .

Highly recommended. And, I am going to follow this interesting series.
15 Ways to say Good night is a beautifully illustrated book which just begs to be read aloud. Each nation’s good night greeting is rendered in simple text, with a reminder of land and continent. And each good night is illustrated with child and alien staring at a sky that quietly reminds us of culture and place. The pictures invite questions and answers. The text invites careful repetition. And child and alien pleasingly take their place, side by side, friends with all the world and more, wishing goodness to all.

15 Ways to say Good night offers a simple insight into different languages and sounds, and is perfect for small readers and listeners. It invites curiosity about the world around us. And it begs to be read and enjoyed over and again. From pyramids of Egypt to forests of Northern Europe, from tower blocks of Israel to towering trees and giraffes of Africa, from wolf to dragon and more, the book is filled with fascinating images, beautifully sketched, with minimal color engaging the imagination. It’s a cool fun read, and my only complaint is I wish the good nights had followed a more obvious path around the world, so the book could be more easily used in conjunction with a globe.

Highly recommended, this is a beautiful book, easy to read, and the sort of book adults will love to reread as their child begs for more.

Disclosure I was given a copy and I offer my honest review.

Personally, I feel that the ages for book one should be more than 3 - 5. The reason I say that is there aren't many colors to keep the little ones looking at the pages. There are some blues, yellows, reds and greens.

Another reason is that there is a real teaching moment with the 'Esperanto' word for good night, 'Bonan Nokton'.. One doesn't see that language mentioned much although it is an international language which was devised in 1887. And, one that children should know exists.

There are also Egyptian, Catalan, Hebrew, Zulu, Chinese and Danish to name a few that are contained in the book.

All in all, I did like it but do think that the age should be increased to perhaps 5 to 8. Edited on 16 August to reflect that the ages have been changed from 3 - 5 to 3 - 8 and I appreciate that change so thank you.

Highly recommended. And, I am going to order the next one in the series now.
